CAPT Shary M. Jones, PharmD, MPH, BCPS, is a distinguished public health leader and pharmacist, known for her dynamic contributions to the healthcare landscape. With a rich and diverse background, she has made a lasting impact in various capacities, including her pivotal role at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, where she played a crucial part in shaping healthcare policy and preserving the fiscal sustainability of Medicare and Medicaid and ensuring the programs continue to provide essential healthcare services to eligible beneficiaries.

Her dedication to public health is exemplified through her service at the National Vaccine Program Office, where she undoubtedly contributed to the advancement of immunization and vaccine policy, a critical aspect of preventive healthcare on a national scale. In her capacity as the Acting and Deputy Regional Health Administrator for Region 7 in Kansas City, MO, CAPT Jones exhibited exceptional leadership, playing a key role in addressing regional healthcare challenges and fostering a collaborative and innovative approach to public health practice.

A Maryland native, CAPT Jones has demonstrated a passion for shaking up the status quo and setting new standards for community building and connection, both in traditional workplace settings and virtual environments. Her role as the Special Assistant to the Center for Mental Health Services Director highlights her commitment to workplace wellness, earning acclaim from SAMHSA leaders for her extraordinary dedication. She currently serves at the Director of the Region 6 engagement team for the Office of Infectious Disease Prevention within the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Health.

CAPT Jones completed an ASHP accredited specialty residency in geriatrics at Alamance Regional Medical Center in Burlington, NC, and is an alumna of the prestigious Howard University College of Pharmacy and the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
